THIS latest book from the well-known archaeologist has been produced in collaboration with the Golden Age of Northumbria Project which has gathered together local community groups, archaeological projects, churches, schools, theatre groups and historical re-enactment societies to bring to life stories of the kings, saints and commoners of early medieval Northumbria.
The book provides an overview of the Northumbrian golden age, and biographies of its most important saints who, apart from Cuthbert, include Paulinus, Aidan, Wilfrid, Bede, Hild, Aebbe and Benedict Biscop.
