Tyneside pictures

Following the article which appeared in The Northumbrian 176 featuring drawings made by leading 19th Century landscape artist John Wilson Carmichael of the construction of the Newcastle to Carlisle Railway, this second article by Stewart Bonney features some of the fine engravings made from drawings by the same artist.  They were published a few years earlier, in 1830, in a series entitled ‘Pictures of Tyneside’.
