I WOULD be interested to know if any readers have experienced what happened to my hiking group on September 13, 2014, when we returned wearily to our cars at Shillmoor in the Coquet Valley after a 10-mile hike.
Suddenly the silence was broken by expletives from a normally placid driver when he discovered that two cars had been scratched on every panel. I suggested that we should report it to the police but also check at the nearby farm first.
The farmer obligingly came out, looked at the cars and said: “It’s the sheep: they look for salt on the cars. Those are teeth marks.”
