The Delavals – A Family History

Out of stock

The first De La Vals arrived in England with William the Conqueror and they lived at Seaton in Northumberland for more than 700 years.  The family produced successive generations of enterprising individuals including an admiral, an engineer, a scientist and the pleasure-seeking ‘Gay Delavals’.  New material in this updated and expanded third edition includes a chapter about the late Lord Hastings, who rescued Seaton Delaval Hall from neglect.   Following his death it was re-opened by the National Trust in 2010.
